What is localization

Localization means the process in which a product is adapted to a specific locale, that is, to its language, culture traditions, local standards and norms as well as to the demands, requirements and expectations of a target market.

Apart from the text translation, the following icons, cultural, content and technical issues must be considered, including local conventions, time/date displays, measurement systems, numbers and currency, legal conventions, character encodings & fonts.

Meanwhile, a perfectly localized product should meet all the legal requirements of the local/target markets.

A localized product enables the local users to work in their own language and in a setting that is natural to them.
