FAQ

How do I send you my documents for translation?

We usually accept a number of digital file formats which can be sent electronically via email or through our free quote request form. Our server currently accepts files in .doc, .docx, .pdf, .rar, .txt, .wpd, or .zip formats.

Hard copies of documents may be mailed to us or dropped off in person at our office

How long will it take to translate my files?

We provide professional human translation services rather than machine translation, and the maximum amount a translator can do per day is between 2000 and 2500 words. Using translation memory technology, our translators can significantly reduce turnaround time, based on how much of the text is repetitive. We can also assign a team of translators instead of appointing a single translator to expedite large projects with short turnaround needs.

How do you ensure the quality of its linguists?

All our translators are selected from a large number of candidates according to their source- and target-language capability, translation skills, learning capability, knowledge structure, etc., in line with the following principles:

a. OKTranslation only cooperates with accredited translators.

b. Each of our translators holds a professional certificate for translation or interpretation, or has passed an in-house accreditation process

OKTranslation's editors and linguistic reviewers generally have degrees in their appropriate language, or degrees in translation. Alternatively they may be experts in the subject of the project.

How are changes handled during the course of a project?

When any change to the project scope, baseline specifications or time requirements is proposed by you, our Project Manager assesses these, and evaluates the effects this may have before acceptance.

If the change requires an update to the schedule (usually more than a week), or adjustments to the resource assignment (about 10% change), our Project Manger reports this change to you. Once an agreement has been reached with you on the change to the project scope or baseline, our Project Manager updates all the documentation related to the project accordingly (schedule, specifications and guidelines). The updated information is then transferred to the person concerned. The modification to the project document is recorded, and a checklist maintained.

What is your method of communication?

90% of project communications are implemented via Internet email while MSN and SKYPE are also adapted as assistant methods. English can be used as the working language. Once the service completed, the final product is delivered to you by email..

When do I pay for my translation?

Usually payment for translation is settled after the project has been completed. Upon your receipt of translation, we send you an invoice. For the first cooperation or large projects, down payment is required according to the contract signed.

We accept the following methods of payment:
Corporate check
Wire transfer
PayPal

Can you guarantee my project will be kept confidential?
